Kehilat Yozma and the City of Modiin Invite You to Join the Family
May. 10, 2007

“Yozma” (MEANS initiative in Hebrew) is a young, vibrant and socially concious Reform community in Israel’s newest city of Modi’in, founded in 1997 by Rabbi Kinneret Shiryon-- Israel’s first women Rabbi. Yozma together with the city of Modiin, the Ministry of Absorption and the Jewish Agency for Israel is encouraging Reform Jews who are considering Aliyah to take the next step. New Olim are provided with a supportive framework, professional guidance and financial assistance in all aspects of immigration and absorption. During the week of July 8th, Rabbi Kinneret Shiryon and the Mayor of Modi’in will be in the U.S to expose this great program and meet with potential participants.

Modi’in, called in Israel “The city of the future”, is located between Jerusalem and Tel-Aviv. It reflects a new era in city building. Each year 4,000 housing units are built along with many green parks. Its population is comprised of academic, young families. There is an outstanding Progressive Jewish education, employment opportunities and year round culture, sport and leisure activities.
